“I remembered reviewing an earlier release by Casper McCloud and his band, and I REALLY liked it. Being a classic rock/prog rock fan, the sound was right where I wanted to be. So, when I was asked to review this new release, I quickly found time to listen. Just for the uninitiated, Caspar McCloud is an accomplished portrait artist, an equestrian, a virtuoso guitarist, singer, and songwriter, as well as an ordained minister, and author…

I look forward to listening this again and again. 10/10”

This is your opportunity to order Walking In Authority, Caspar McCloud Band’s newest album to be released soon. It is our first double album with 24 new songs to help strengthen and encourage you for the days ahead.

Isn’t it interesting that the Lord often sends His musicians out to the front lines of battle using music to help strengthen His armies when they engage in warfare? Images of the British fife and drummer leading the way come to mind, and it also reminds me of a significant message I feel led to share.

I let one of my friends in England preview some of the new songs and see the album cover. He and his family join us online for Sunday worship services because they couldn’t find a single church in their town still preaching the true Gospel. Rather the churches are pushing their congregations to take an unlicensed, uninsured experimental injection which has been proven to cause numerous adverse reactions and deaths. Here is what he wrote to me: “I woke this morning and the picture of your album cover popped into my mind. Seeing you on your horse with all those around you reminded me of the song we sang at church as children:

‘I may never march in the infantry
Ride in the cavalry
Shoot the artillery
I may never zoom over the enemy
But, I’m in the Lord’s Army!’

Your album cover is a photo of the ‘Lord’s Army.’ Singing that song as a child I didn’t comprehend the meaning of the words, but now I do and it’s a song I haven’t thought about for years. I guess what I’m saying fits in nicely with Ephesians 6:13…put on the full armour of God. We followers of Jesus are all in the Lord our King’s army. Isn’t it strange the little thoughts that pop into our minds upon waking – thoughts inspired by your album cover and music?”

One of the characteristics I find so appealing about God Almighty is that He is direct, as He says what He means and He means what He says. Every word has direction and meaning just like the opening words of one of the very first commandments found in Deuteronomy 5:6. “I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.”

The Lord God Almighty tells us throughout the Holy Scriptures that He cares deeply about music. We read in places like Zephaniah 3:17 that “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”

What must it sound like to hear the Lord of all creation joyfully singing over us – sending us supernatural peace with His agape love? One thing I feel certain of from studying His Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural is that it is personal. When you sing over your loved ones it is personal. When mums and dads sing over their babies it’s personal. Even when we sing to a crowd it is still personal as it can affect each person in different levels of understanding, and when God Almighty sings over us it must also be personal. So I reckon if God Almighty who also created music sings over us, music must somehow be important to Him. If music is important to God Almighty what should we do with it? After all, the final purpose of music is to bring glory to the Lord.

The Last Supper is certainly one of the most profound events that unfolded in the Holy Bible. The Lord Jesus knew He was going to be betrayed, and He was going to feel horrific physical and emotional pain beyond what anyone has ever experienced before or since. He knew He would see His mother Mary at the foot of the cross and how her heart would be broken knowing her son was the Messiah. He knew that He was to be the sacrificial Passover Lamb that came to bear the sins of the world and the wrath of God. And yet, knowing these things, we see in the gospels of Matthew and Mark that the Lord Jesus/Yeshua chose to worship Father God by singing a hymn with His original disciples at the conclusion of sharing His Last Supper with them. “And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the Mount of Olives.” Mark 14:26. How significant this is when we contemplate the deep emotion the Lord felt in anticipation of what He would endure in order to save each one of us.

As a musician, I believe He did this because music expresses deep emotion in a way that words alone cannot. Singing to God Almighty in worship of Him helps us to keep the Lord our first love. It is a way of making a wholehearted declaration that we love God no matter what is going on in our life. When the angels in Heaven witness this, they join in.

I have spent much of my life, as have my band mates, learning to play a new song skillfully unto my Lord (Psalm 33:3). Although we consider music an art form, it’s so much more than we can understand this side of Heaven. From my years of studying our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural, and my research and studies of epigenetics, along with my background as a recording artist, I think I understand a wee bit how one well-crafted song can change our perceptions of reality the way one good idea can change the world. Some years back I found an interesting article by Dr. Richard Pellegrino, a medical doctor who is a brain specialist and consultant to the entertainment industry from whence I came. He wrote some articles for Billboard Magazine which is a magazine the music industry reads to see who is doing what and how many records have they sold, etc., which helps to determine what radio plays, or more likely who paid them off to play it. These days it’s pretty much pay-to-play, but I digress.Dr. Pellegrino wrote about the incomparable power that music has upon the human brain stating that it has the uncanny power to: “…trigger a flood of human emotions and images that can instantaneously produce very powerful changes in emotional states.” Dr. Pellegrino went on to declare: “Take it from a brain researcher. In 25 years of working with the brain, I still cannot affect a person’s state of mind the way that one simple song can.”

Consider how David’s anointed music created the atmosphere that made evil spirits depart from King Saul. That makes me think about how the Lord can do a mighty work in one true worship song. When you just really give it up to God Almighty in praise and connect with Him through the Holy Spirit in song, that creates a holy atmosphere where supernatural miracles can happen.

If we think this through, music pre-exists humanity. In Job 38:7 the Lord asked Job “Where were you…while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” The heavenly host was singing at the dawn of creation itself. Music is another wonder of God’s infinite creative mind.

Music transcends the mind, the body, and the senses. It seems nobody has ever been able to completely and totally define it.

A person born deaf can only experience music by feeling its sound vibrations, but beyond that, how could you hope to explain its full effect to them?

Scientific research has revealed that playing musical instruments can not only result in a high IQ, but that learning to play an instrument can also improve verbal and visual skills. For example, visual perception and cognitive abilities in children can greatly improve from being instructed on an instrument.
So to me, music is something that can reach into places where no ordinary mode of speech can fully travel, and it can also bring out things that we never knew existed within ourselves. I think I can relate a message through a song that would take me numerous hours to preach and teach.

As we continue to fight the good fight of faith together, I pray Walking In Authority will bless you and help to encourage you to be an overcommer staying in prayer that we shall escape these things that are unfolding upon the world stage. “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:36.

Keep in mind Jesus said in Luke 21:15: “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” I say hallelujah! Because all things are possible with God! I pray the Lord’s supernatural peace, healing, provision, and protection cover you always with oceans of agape love in the almighty name of Jesus/Yeshua!
